Fan Qin, alternatively named as Yaoqing or Dongming, is a native of Ningbo, who owned Tianyige Library as a famed bibliophile in the Ming Dynasty, who owned Tianyige Library as a famed bibliophile in the Ming Dynasty. Throughout his official career, he felt compassion for the grassroots, governed in line with justice, stood against the corrupt high-rank official Guo Xun and Yan Shifan (son of the then prime minister Yan Song).He served in more than half of the Chinese territory and every time he arrived in a place, he would either purchase or transcribe local copies. With respect to the type of books collected, Fan had a broad perspective, emphasizing both classic and contemporary masterpieces. In synergy with his counterparts Zhang Shiche and Tu Dashan, he helmed the literary circle of Ningbo, rendering the Moon Lake Culture more sparkling.
