With his former residence in Xueting of the Moon Lake, Weng Wenhao, alternatively called Yongni, is a native of Ningbo and a noted scholar in the period of the Republic of China. He has several identities: premier of the ROC, the most well-known geological doyen of China, the first doctor of geology, compiler of the first geology textbook and leader of the first oil field exploitation, thus making great contributions in various aspects like geology education, mine exploitation and earthquake research.
