Yintaidi Mansion, a city-level cultural relics protection unit, now turned into Yintaidi Mansion Museum. Constructed in 1,823 of the Qing Dynasty, the south-facing Yintaidi Residence covers an area of some 2000 m2. It consists of three rows, inclusive of the hallway, the hall, the main building , the back lobby, and wing-rooms, and is the best preserved vernacular building of the Qing Dynasty. The owner of the Residence was Tong Huai, who served as deputy director of the Tongzhengsi (Transmission Office) of the Qing government back in the Jiaqing Period. As Tongzhengsi was also called Yintai, the mansion was named as Yintaidi. Tong Hua, son of Tong Huai, had ever assumed the post of Right Shilang (Assistant ministers after the Tang) of the Ministry of Rites. And as he was once tutor of the Emperor Guangxu( 1871-1908), his residence was revered as the “ Former Residence of Emperor’s Teacher”.
