Snow Islet is between Lotus Islet and Misty Islet. In the Song Dynasty, the islet was for Guanyin Temple, Sixiu Hall, Plum Wall. People in the Ming Dynasty built Guanyin Granary, Supervisor Zhou's mansion, Jianjia Pavilion, which were shadowed by Moon Lake Academy in the Qing Dynasty. Originally Guangyin Temple was the mansion of governor Qian Yi, the brother of Qian Chu, which were later changed into the temple. When Jin soldiers conquered the city in 1130, the temple was devastated during incessant wars. When in the Yuan Dynasty, Guangying Granary was arranged on the ruins of the temple, but gradually became useless. Yitian Academy, built at the beginning of Qing Dynasty was altered into Moon Lake Academy later. During the period of the Republic of China, it was turned into the Fourth Normal School of Zhejiang Province, one of the revolutionary cradles in Ningbo. Now, mosques, Chaoran Pavilion, the old residence of Weng Wenhao is still preserved on the Snow Islet
